This is Ford Field on Romney:
This is Ford Field on Obama:
Any Questions?
(On Edit: The Bottom pic isn't really Ford Field, it's really the XL Center But it could have been Ford Field quite easily)

(38,391 posts)1. That Obama event looks like an arena, not a stadium....

(2,921 posts)3. I believe it's XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut
which used to be called "Hartford Civic Center" before corporate fascism overtook the U.S.

I try to go see Pres. Obama every chance I get and I am not aware of any event at Ford Field.
If you go to this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002346871 you will see that it was not Ford Field.
Not that your point is invalid. It was a huge venue for that crowd. They should have held it somewhere much smaller so the crowd would not look so pitiful.

Same time, not same place.
Does not negate the fact that very few people like Mitt Romney, but we should strive to base our ridicule in fact, I believe.

(45,562 posts)7. Misleading. XL Center only holds 16k.
Comparing basketball stadium seating with football stadium seating is dishonest.
EarlG had a better comparison:

(7,237 posts)8. Well, EarlG's is misleading, too.
Comparing the 2008 Democratic National Convention to a random primary campaign speech in 2012 isn't exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, either.

Supporters Calvin Seino (right) and Paige Montgomery (left) cheer on Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) during a rally February 20, 2008, at Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas. Obama is coming off of his 10th consecutive win and is hoping to take Texas and Ohio in their upcoming primaries.

Though I do agree with you, MadrasT: EarlG's image is misleading in that the events were so dissimilar.
