This Map says a lot about America

[img][/img]

What party absolutely opposes this?

Which party won't consider any benefits to working people?

And how on earth does business survive in pretty much every other country on the planet?

International laws like NAFTA and the TPP will eventually turn much of this map red as opposed to turning the US blue.

The epicenter is here, not the converse. We will economically impose our will.

And "caring" is a thing of the past. Like the Lawyer in the last episode of Seinfeld said: "You don't have to care about anybody, that's what America's all about."

have paid maternity leave. The US will have it eventually. The Right wins some battles here and there, but the Left always wins the "war."

a very strong faith in feminists around the world. Feminists win culture wars because they're brave, logical, and right. History proves them right over and over and over again.

The patriarchy fears a pink planet, and they will fight tooth and nail against it, but they will lose.

Do women there even HAVE jobs to take leave from The majority of women there probably have 52 wks leave...permanently....without pay.

But for the ones who are free enough to have jobs and paid maternity leave there.. Good job!

I know no other country where the phrase Family Values is used so often in politics as the USA. As in so many places, those who talk about it the most do it the least. See also: Freedom.

Do you REALLY believe that workers in Uganda and Kenya and Liberia and, hell, ANY third or second world country REALLY have paid maternal leave? If so, paid by whom? You think the wage slaves working in garment factories in India actually have some paid leave program where they get paid for being pregnant? You think the women of China, working 30 consecutive 18 hour shifts for a dollar a day, get paid to sit in their locked corporate housing dormatory prisons because they got knocked up? You think the women of Liberia or Somalia or Uganda have some government enforcing edicts like this? In a large swath of these countries there aren't "jobs" in the traditional sense, in another swath there is no government, and in yet another women aren't legally recognized as humans deserving of any rights at all.

I fully support paid leave for women and I think we should follow the model established by other first world nations, but I think we should leave fictions like this chart behind.

Yes, undoubtedly many are screwed over. But here employers don't even have to worry about that.
The map is accurate illustration of the laws throughout the globe.
We are that backwards.
