Blogger commits suicide, tells his readers ahead of time.

This is my final post on Sports In Review and the reason is pretty major. Before I get into that, I want to say how much I appreciated being able to follow my passion regarding statistics – more specifically, sports statistics – for so many years. It’s been a blast and I’ve had a great opportunity to make a contribution to the many areas that make up this subject.

I hope you will keep in mind that many of the posts I did should be valid for years to come – not just a commentary on what happened that day. From the home page, you will see directly below this post is an index post of sorts that will allow a reader to more quickly find reference-related information. Keep in mind that you can always use the search feature to find posts. And, specific categories can be found by using the drop-down menus on any SIR page.

I have no doubt that I could still have contributed to the development of statistical data and the interpretation of that data. However, the time has come to draw this quasi-hobby to an end.

The reason for my departure is 100% within my ability to control. You see, earlier today, I committed suicide. I created a web-site to deal with the many questions a person would rightfully have. It’s called martinmanleylifeanddeath.com. It went live today. In my opinion, there is no question which you could conceivably ask that I have left unanswered on that site. My goal with this post is closure for SIR.

He also claimed he had buried gold and silver in a local park.
