So they can kill more? Other "aid" winds up in peoples pockets. Mubarak grew rich off our "aid".

OP says majority are against it. Maybe your public have become more aware that their tax dollars . expressed as aid to Egypt, are going more or less straight to the MIC. c. $1.3 billion p.a. is classed as Foreign Military Financing and the balance economic aid.

and there's no indication that those in control would do any such thing if the U.S. suspended military aid.

We desperately need new media sources in this country, that aren't putting out propaganda to support the corporations and power establishment and the wealthy.

RT news is one good start as well as Al Jazeera America, hopefully this will become a tidal wave of new media sources.

I support suspending military aid.

Egypt is awash in military hardware, not to mention that they're getting billions from Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

I'm as sick of pouring billions into Cairo as the next guy, but it's the carrot we have.

...pouring arms into the region for the sake of maintaining peace.

Its worked so far, but at some point it has the potential to go badly wrong. Why would we not consider putting conditions on it now, or what exactly are we waiting to have happen before we stop and took a good look at it?

Then again, our liberal and democratic friends the Rebellion (Tamarrud), supporting the Army and calling for an anti-Morsi/anti-MB militia to help fight them, want to reject all US aid and dispose of the Egypt-Israeli treaty. There's a nice petition to force the Army to do that.

Then again, Badr did say that the slaughter of the MB was necessary and was getting the Tamarrudites what they wanted. As long as somebody gets their pony, I guess it's okay then.
