As a bleeding heart liberal, do you change when everyone starts

hating someone SO much? you rebel against the totality of the hatred itself?

I was all on the hate-A-Rod bandwagon. But, to see the Roman gladiator chanting of hatred and mockery toward him, I thought, did the guy murder someone? NO. Did he start a fake war where hundreds of thousand died or were maimed? NO.

I now choose to open up and stop hating and think -- well, how would you feel if you had a $$275 million contract and you sucked most of the time. Surely, surely, you would feel you had to perform - just to justify all that pay. Why else would you take performance-enhancing drugs? You are guaranteed all that money no matter what you do

Yeah, I tend to defend the person who becomes the focus of hatred. Not sure why. Ed Suspicious Aug 2013 #1

For sure. No amount of group-think hatred is enough for the dark lord Cheney. Couldn't agree with Ed Suspicious Aug 2013 #6

Some stars and celebrities I dislike and it won't ever change most likely. Maybe there is a good reason some of these folks are so hated.

In reference to the OP, I don't care about sports stars, really. Most of them are spoiled thugs in my humble opinion. There are very few sports stars who I think are good and interesting people who I would like to have a beer with.

If I was there I'd be mocking him too. He's a rival player.

are absolutely right. I would do the same thing if it was a Bosox player.

It's eye-opening when you realize your own hypocrisies

Visiting new sports bars in Conn. can be really "exciting" this time of year.
