Timothy Dillon, 43: PBSO identifies man involved in Boynton Beach Standoff Saturday
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - PBSO identifies Timothy Dillon, 43, as the man who barricaded himself in his home Saturday afternoon, armed with guns, leading to a standoff for several hours in one Boynton Beach neighborhood.
Authorities say the man inside the home was threatening to harm himself. They also say he is a member of the NRA and has a variety of guns in the home.
Officials say nearly six homes near the gunman's house were evacuated. Many residents were diverted from the neighborhood that was blocked off for hours.
Around 6:00 p.m., they say he walked in and out of the house with a gun, and at one point appeared to be surrendering. He shot at his own car and continued shooting inside his home. He eventually pointed a gun toward a SWAT member, according to the sheriff's office. That's when officials say a deputy shot him in the torso.

(438 posts)1. What does his being a member of the NRA have to do with this?
Are you suggesting that the NRA pushed him to this standoff? Are you suggesting that the NRA approves of this behavior?
What's the purpose of this thread?
