Rick Scott encouraging political confrontation.

Scott fires up young Republicans in Orlando speech

Go to places you find uncomfortable and brag about being a Republican, Gov. Rick Scott told a gathering of young Republicans Friday night.

"Here's my ask: Tell our story. Don't be shy," Scott said in his address to about 125 statewide delegates and others of the Florida Federation of Young Republicans gathered in downtown Orlando.

"Go to places that might be uncomfortable for you. Go talk to people who you don't believe are Republicans."

Scott's speech came during another unofficial campaign stop he's made in recent weeks. He was not seeking votes — he seemingly had everyone in the room at "hello" — but hoping to build a youth campaign network like the ones Democrats marshaled to win Florida for President Barack Obama twice.

Doesn't sound like a great idea given the stand-your-ground fervor that is going on in this state. Baitball Blogger Aug 2013 #5

I encourage your minions to leave their neighborhoods, go into neighborhoods where they'll be uncomfortable, and start ranting about Republican ideology. That's a recipe for success.

I know how many friends I cut off just because they tried to spread right-wing beliefs. This isn't going to go well between strangers.
