General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWhat would you like to see Wikileaks, Snowden, Anonymous or others leak most?
This is inspired by Robert Parry's piece that the Bradley Manning leaks may have prevented a war with Iran.
Way up on my list is the part of the Joint Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 that Bush censored that deal with the Saudi government role in 9/11.
Sen. Bob Graham, chair of the Senate Intel Committee at the time of 9/11 said if the public saw those pages, it would change our relationship with Saudi overnight.
He and former Sen. Bob Kerrey are pursuing evidence of Saudi involvement on their own, presumably to find independent evidence that they can present without revealing what they know from classified sources.
I would also like to see the emails between Wall Street and both the Bush and Obama White Houses during and after the 2008 collapse, so we can see exactly who was calling the shots, and what they expected to get out of it.
And I would like to see the real arguments for the Iraq War and which players in the business world were lobbying for that (so we can possibly present them with a bill for our services).
Any others?

(48,181 posts)Perhaps you had some other non-soviet intelligence agency in mind? Although there are questions about its authenticity, the Mitrokhin Archive is a vast leak (second hand though) of KGB files. Again - circa 1992.

(22,541 posts)Not US. And then you call US delusional.
For another thing, without all the touchy-feely communism of the USSR what's left when you have a sociopathic ex-KGB guy in charge? You have all the hell the KGB put people through with none of the good the Party used to provide. That's what.
And I'll tell you one thing, there was once a certain honour among certain spies. Putin was never included in that group. Not for one second. There's a reason for that.

(48,181 posts)all of the CIA files on JFK, MLK, Malcom X, RFK, Fred Hampton, Salvador Allende, Patrice Lumamba, and every other political assassinated from 1950 - 2013.
All the files on mind control programs - for example the LSD experiments and any other related programs.

(2,674 posts)When Daniel Ellsburg leaked info about the Vietnam war, it was because he cared about what was happening in the war and felt it should be made public for the good of America. Snowden, Wikileaks, Anonymous are different, they do not care about the good of America, they are libertarian spoilers who only want to cause harm to the USA and get their names in the news. If they did care, they would be selective about what is released so innocent people would not be harmed. I am sick of hearing about them and DU posters rising to their defense.

(26,549 posts)For example, any evidence of an NSA program to gather data on US persons beyond the phone metadata program.
They haven't produced any documents that do so. They have leaked the phone metadata program, and then worked very hard to conflate it with other NSA programs such as PRISM. Haven't quite documented that programs such as PRISM target US persons. In fact, the documents they have leaked include protections to detect and eliminate US persons from their "target list".

(6,785 posts)I think if much of the shit they did ever became public in a way that it couldn't be denied, it would be a death blow for right wing politics. Well, maybe not a death blow, but at the very least a deep wound.
The shit we know they did was borderline treason, and they admit to war crimes, so how much more are they hiding?
I'm referring to the court of public opinion, of course. Prosecutions wouldn't happen no matter what came out.
