...Syria GASSED its own people, killing what is claimed to be HUNDREDS.

Not seeing much coverage of that here.
(I get called an NSA apologist by some meathead in 3...2...1...)

(26,060 posts)allow you to apologize for being wrong about threads on Syria. There were several this morning. Don't get me wrong - I also am sick of so many important things going by the wayside while we wring our hands over the NSA but I don't accuse the entire board of ignoring them.

(10,751 posts)...why make the gassing in Syria take second place to the NSA in your own post? Your post's title is a provocative one, clearly doing a little meta analysis about the many NSA threads here. You COULD have made a post about the Syria gassing, without bringing another topic into it. Then you would be practicing what you preach. Since you chose to make the Syria situation secondary in your own post on the matter, I think I'll demur when you try and lecture the rest of us on the topic.
What you said!

(12,530 posts)...to connect the Syria story with NSA. If you want to talk about Syria, do so. If you want to talk about the NSA, do so. If you want to conflate the two matters, expect to hear something about it.

(18,402 posts)I think that is what the OP is trying to say.
Minimally, it is taking up the most real estate on this board, by a long shot. A very long shot. Maybe it's a small coterie, but they're unusually loud and vocal.

(12,081 posts)health care, minimum wage, marijuana, and even threads that don't have anything to do with politics. If someone doesn't want to see the Manning threads or the NSA threads they can tell the site to auto trash those threads.

(18,402 posts)And, at least for me, personally, hiding or trashing threads is not the answer. That's like putting your head in the sand to me. I think it's important to understand where people's heads are. And just as important for other people to be able to openly say, "get your head in a saner place," if that is their opinion.

(12,081 posts)as they want. After the Sandy Hook shooting this place was nothing but people arguing over gun control, and even the adminstrators said it was perfectly fine for there to be as many threads on that one subject as people wanted to write.
