Great Idea from a Wingnut: Increase Debt Ceiling and Pass a Budget In 'Exchange' For...
"forcing" Harry Reid to bring all of the crackpot House bills to defund Obamacare to the Senate floor for a vote.I saw a wingnut post this idea/threat on the video linked below. I'm pretty sure he thought it would be a great threat to 'force' Reid and Obama to do something they wouldn't normally do; but in fact it's a great way to allow the GOP to both pass a budget and raise the debt ceiling, while bragging to their idiot base that they forced Reid and Obama to do something.
The suggestion: Raise the debt ceiling (and pass a budget) in exchange for Harry Reid allowing the 40 'Repeal Obamacare' Bills to go to a vote on the Senate floor. He figured this would hurt the Democratic Senators in Red States by forcing them to vote for Obamacare in plain view of their constituents. In fact, they could easily defeat each Bill with 51 Democratic Senators from Blue States, giving cover to a couple from Red States to vote FOR one or two of the bills. Meanwhile, in exchange for passing a budget and raising the debt ceiling, Boehner and McConnell get to brag to their base of idiots that they 'forced' Obama and Reid to do something they otherwise wouldn't have.
