(AFP) – 35 minutes ago

WASHINGTON — US Vice President Joe Biden's son will leave hospital Thursday after a "successful procedure" following a health scare last week, the White House said.

Beau Biden, who was reportedly evaluated at a cancer center in Houston, Texas, had an episode of "disorientation" and "weakness" while on vacation with his family.

The elder Biden cleared his schedule and flew to be with his son as he underwent tests.

"Yesterday our son Beau underwent a successful procedure," said a statement Wednesday from the vice president and his wife Jill.

Likely only that he underwent a successful biopsy. Depends on the result.

the cancer Ted Kennedy had -- couldn't go home after their biopsies.

So I hope this is a good sign.
