please send good thoughts for manitou springs and surrounding areas tonight.

rain, flash flood warnings, fountain creek nearly overflowing its banks--more rain on the way. a very worrisome situation.

(note: I can sort of understand the fascination with watching danger--but seeing all those people standing around waiting for the flood wave to come down was just weird)

I've spent a lot of time in Manitou Springs (I don't remember much, haha) but its such a cool little town.

their banks (barely, in the case of fountain creek). manitou springs is a unique town--coffin races, fruitcake tosses---haunted houses. . .

hoping we were not going to have a fourth flood. believe me, I would not be one of those standing right next to the creek--I watched the coverage as it rose from a few inches to the top of the wall in what seemed a matter of minutes.
