Columbia, South Carolina Criminalizes Homelessness In Unanimous Vote

I wonder how many of these city council members profess to be Christian?

Columbia, South Carolina Criminalizes Homelessness In Unanimous Vote

City council members in Columbia, S.C., recently voted unanimously to criminalize homelessness.

Concerned that Columbia has become a “magnet for homeless people,” and that businesses and the area’s safety are suffering as a result, council members agreed on Aug. 14 to give people on the streets the option to either relocate, or get arrested, according to the city’s “Emergency Homeless Response” report.

Cooperative homeless people will be given the option to go to a remote 240-person bed emergency shelter, which will be open from September to March. The shelter will also be used as a drop-off for people recently released from prison and jail, too.

A hotline will be set up for passersby to “report” a homeless person that needs to be removed, additional police will be dispensed to monitor the streets and vans will escort the homeless to the shelter.

and not just under TeaPubliKlans. Tent cities torn down, shakedowns, harassment, little kindness, and great disdain virtually everywhere.

with each passing day. Seems manufacturing "criminals" is now the only thing we are number 1 at producing.

Why, they already wrote themselves around the Constitution/Bill of Rights.

Tell me the story about 9/11 again.

Matthew 25:31-46

King James Version (KJV)

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

42 For I was hungry, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

for crooks, liars and thieves to hide and disguise themselves. If there is a heaven, there will be very few Christians. It will be full of caregivers who were too busy taking care of the poor, the helpless, fellow mankind and mother earth to get wrapped up in superstition called religion.

According to ThinkProgress, clients at the shelter will not be allowed to leave the premises without permission and a police officer will stand guard at the road leading to the building.

I guess it is called freedom when you have an option to either go to the camp or jail. There is another political figure who sent people to camps and also considered himself a good Xtian.

25% of the homeless in the area are families, so the city decides it is a good idea to also use this "shelter" as a place to drop off inmates. What could possibly go wrong there?

Joe you lie Wilson's son is Ag in SC, so you know this will not be challenged. A way to fight back. The people should call the hotline and report the legislators as being homeless. Force them to walk a mile with no shoes.

Columbia has always been one of the places that many LE agencies in NC were willing to foot the bill for a bus ticket to "move people on" who were drifters.

Primarily because it was the cheapest out of state destination.
