You couldn't go to a public meeting of any kind without hearing about 911 and how it related to whatever it was. Or read an article - I remember the most far out being an article about securities laws and sure enough, somehow an article on securities laws managed to mention 911.

There was a thing about security on campus and walking girls home on campus at night. WTF does that have to do with terrorism? That's been a problem since long before 911.
