I want to say that I don't. We would be digging ourselves a deeper pit. And who are the "good guys?"
And then the neocons will want us to get involved in Egypt.
It's time to draw a red line against more military involvement.

(27,993 posts)Obama has been trying to get the job done with the usual proxies (including al Qaeda) but Assad has been winning. And now the gas attack (timed when UN inspectors were on the ground ) may force Obama's hand.

(39,961 posts)Stirring in a hornet's nest isn't going to stop the swarm and all it will do is cause more people to get stung. I feel for them, I really do, but US involvement would just make things worse.

(38,893 posts)Ever notice how the insane government of Israel desperately wants war with Iran, even down to using Wyl E. Coyote-style graphics to attempt to gain allies? And failing that, working to foment war with an Iranian ally so that Iran will be forced into the conflict?
