It has always surprised me how hard it is for Liberals to network in Florida, but I can understand people's apprehensions because this state is hostile and deceptive, especially to those of us who have peeked behind the curtain. But one must continue to make the effort and push forward, so I'm hoping this post will be productive.
Who knows of liberal, activist attorneys who can practice in the state, who are not part of a large firm, but are passionate about taking on cases which expose government corruption? I'm not looking to get into a major legal fight with anyone, just looking for someone to take on a city government that is reluctant to release public records.
The Florida Public Records Law is, generally, favorable to the one who seeks the records and I believe the legal fees are paid by the government body that is found to be in default. I have every reason to believe I have established enough evidence to show a pattern. I would be more than happy to send someone the information so they can review it. You can PM me, or discuss it out in the open.
In fact, I am really surprised that the Florida Public Records Law and its legal aspects are not discussed here more often.

(144,939 posts)I went to Florida in 2004 as part of the Kerry Edwards legal/voter protection team. This attorney was the leader in these efforts and is a good guy http://www.bergersingerman.com/attorneys/Charles+H./Lichtman/

(46,684 posts)I may be small potatoes for him, but maybe he can refer me to someone who is passionate enough to help me out. These are just standard public records requests. There should be clinics available to ordinary people to teach us how to sue the government in court, because it is just a legal standard procedure.
