(4,452 posts)As long as they agree. If not, I might put it on a billboard across the road. It would get great exposure especially if it causes traffic jams from people stopping to read it.

(3,001 posts)My mother has been fighting to keep her place open:

She has been in the USPS for 30+ years, not too sure what she will do if she loses this job.

(1,819 posts)People are freaking out about having to drive to Miami.
My husband transferred to be a carrier two years ago, so he'll get to stay at a branch closer to home. July will be 33 years for him. He's trying to hang on until he turns 55 later this year. Then if they start giving him too much shit, he can put in his papers and go. Although, we can't afford to live here on his retirement pay, and we think our house is under water.
Good luck to your mom. Is she close enough to 55 to be able to retire?
She is pretty close... but also under water on a balloon mortgage (they have an inlaw in a house they share with my sister). They are hoping they might qualify for Obamas refi plan..
My dad had a quad-bypass last year. Just hoping that everything works out and they can relax a bit. Good luck to you guys as well!

(185 posts)...because they don't. If they hate the post office, they should go to Fedex or UPS and see how they like the rates. They've probably tried and don't like the much higher costs, so that's why they keep hanging around the post office to bitch at postal employees and go on political diatribes they heard from talk radio that nobody wants to hear. Some idiot was holding up the line the other day, arguing with the clerk about overnight shipping. After standing around for 5 minutes, I left and came back later. The postal employee politely kept trying to tell her, in different ways, that it wouldn't get there the next morning, but this lady just couldn't register it in her mind.
Ben Franklin was the first postmaster general too. So, yes, these libertarian types who want Fedex and UPS to have a complete monopoly over mail don't have a monopoly on the founding fathers or the constitution with their position.
