Because they were too fucking spineless and didn't want to be "with the terrorists." Many of them voted for the Illegal War and the Patriot act. Hillary voted in favor of both of those.

20. OH HELL YA we did. And, the biggest surprise in my life was that he wasn't

held accountable when it was shown there were no WMD. It didn't happen one day or at one point - but a period of time. I don't know what it was like being on the Senate floor, like she was...hearing the hard-sell scare tactics - but I bet you any money she hates Bush and Cheney and regrets trusting them. although she would never admit it.

As it stands Obama is giving the PTB everything they want and they have no desire to impeach him and risk a backlash that they can;t control.
And they will get the message, but it won't stop them from talking about it because it riles up the hateful.

12. I don't think this is entirely true

A huge part of it is "presidenting while Democrat." Remember that Republicans went after Clinton for 8 years, manufacturing scandal after scandal, and doing a lot to disrupt his governing. It's a lot worse now, and part of that is because Obama is black but the other part is that Republicans have solidified their strategy to a much greater degree: to do everything possible to prevent the "opposition" from doing anything, including all-out campaigns to delegitimize the other party.

Saying thatit's just because Obama is black misses this aspect completely.

Column reminds of my father's favorite joke:


A Semi carrying a large platform trailer was hauling a large boiler that was purchased for the hospital that housed the criminally insane.

When it got off the interstate it pulled in front of the hospital but had to go under a railroad trestle to take the boiler to the side entrance. There was only one alley that he could take but his trailer and the boiler added up to being 5" over the clearance. So the driver got out and was met by the head of maintenance for the institution.

The stood in front of the exercise yard and discussed all kinds of options, including hiring a crane to take the boiler off and hold in mid air and then pass it to the truck on the other side of the trestle to temporary dismantling the trestle.

Three inmates watched as more and more staff came out to try and figure out a solution. After about 3 hours they noticed that the three inmates were giggling non stop after each new solution was proposed. Finally one of the crowd of about 14 yelled to the guys "what the hell are you giggling about".

"Well" said the tallest "we have been wondering why you don't just deflate the big tires of trailer by 5 and 1/2 inches drive it a few feet under the trestle and then have an air compressor on the other side and reinflate the tires?

The group stood silently until the driver yelled "hell that's easy, you guys are pretty smart why the hell are you in a place like this?"

"Well we may be crazy but that doesn't mean we are stupid!".


With the column Ms. Dowd is simply saying that she may be crazy but that doesn't mean that she is stupid too!
