Higher wages = lower profits. This too is well understood by the guys running the show. So rather than doing something insane like raising wages, let's spend decades demonizing the "welfare state" to the point that many working people will agree with dismantling it. Dismantle that and not only will we not have to raise wages but people will be so desperate that they'll have no choice but to accept even lower wages, no benefits and horrible working conditions! It's a win/win!

They would like to make more money but advertise like crazy but the trickle down never trickles far enough to get the ecomony going. You are right,DUH.

What's the correlation between real value of minimum wage and inflation. Conservatives say increased minimum wage will increase inflation. However, real value of minimum wage has been going down for decades. The inflation adjusted minimum wage from like the 60s is like $11.

So an experiment an changing minimum wage is already under way, they've just been lowering its real value for years and years. The question is, has inflation been slowing? No, here's the chart of inflation. Find the point in the 68 where the started lowering the real value of the minimum wage.

So in fact, they appear to be inversely correlated. Wanna lower inflation? Raise the minimum wage.

This should be the #1 issue for Democrats/Progressives/Liberals.

It's the perfect way to help the economy, take back from the 1%, and help those that are most in need. It's fucking perfect.

Imagine forcing them to pay for food for their workers rather than the workers using government supported food stamps to feed their children and families.

It will definitely cut into their profits.
