I'd say someone runs on the field at least once a week in pro sports. Probably more overseas.

to expect heavily armed Robocops where ever we go, bored stiff and pushing people around because nobody likes to be armed to the teeth and bored stiff.

Having that happen every time would discourage people from running onto the field!

Strolling through the stalls of beets and pears, fully armed, chilling the whole happy atmosphere that people have in that space once a week.

A dumbass fan (wearing neither team's colors!) ran on the field, and NBC cut to an aerial view. The SFPD then brought in extra officers on patrol. No need to panic.

I imagine it makes for an easy shift, they seem to enjoy it and nobody minds that they're there. Mostly they are good people who grew up here and probably went to school here.

The only trouble I ever saw was a couple of kids "streaked" through the field during half-time once, and two cops had to go run (jog) after them. I don't remember hearing that they caught them or that anything came of it.

saying that if enough people did it at once or in sequence some of them would get away with it.

Apparently some of our local folks are a bit too impressionable.
