Wild Wings Cafe and Wild Weird SC

I have been following this story as soon as I found it. The first inkling of it that I found was here on DU. I began to try to find out more because I want to make sure somebody took an appropriate action.

What I found was a complete outlier of a story. There was nothing about it. That really made me curious.

I don't doubt that it happened. Anything could happen here, and I'm not sure what would surprise me anymore.

I have looked everywhere I can. I have searched news sites, local activist group sites, politicians' web sites, church sites, and so on. I have talked to people in that area and all over the state.

This type of incident has to be stopped immediately and nipped in the bud.

What's weird is that there isn't anything about it. Believe me, in SC there are more than a few people who would run with this in either direction. There would also be many standing firm and demanding an investigation and explanation. It should be publized and followed up on.

A group of 25 people received this treatment a month ago and not a peep until now?

I want to know why?

It's most likely an embellished story. A 2 hour wait at a wing joint in the middle of summer? Really? That part alone is highly suspect. Have you ever been with a group of 25 people that would agree to wait 2 hours at a restaurant?

I have read about very unlikely stories happening in SC.
One such story was the incredible tale of a governor who said he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail and ended up in Argentina with a mistress. Unreal, no?

People's recollections about time when it comes to waiting for food and drinks tend to be way off. I worked in the service industry for 20 years, and I can tell you that when people complain that they've been waiting a certain amount of time for their food, you can usually divide that time in half, and that will be the reality. When they say they've waited an hour for their food, it's usually about 30 minutes.

Now, I've also seen a few instances where there have been complaints about racism, and they're usually a result of a misunderstanding. People might see people who have just been seated get their food first and they complain about it. Often what happens is that the people just seated were moved from another part of the restaurant. Also, they might be regulars who ordered their meal ahead. There's lots of different things that can happen.

There's also human error to consider. Maybe the kitchen misplaced the orders for one table, or maybe the server didn't turn in the tickets in the correct order. What you order makes a difference, too. A table that orders a bunch of fried food will sometimes get fed before a table that orders a bunch of well-done steaks.

Few restaurants want a reputation for being bigoted. They desperately try to make sure everyone is treated the same. There are places that are racist, classist, or whatever, but they are way out of the ordinary. Complaints about bias are usually very easily explained by human error.

A good server stays on top of his tables and knows what's going on with the orders in the kitchen. It isn't always possible to do that at really hectic times. If the people who complained about that restaurant waited for two hours or even one hour, they were treated horribly by the staff, but it wasn't necessarily about racism. The restaurant was smart to give them a free meal to show they were sorry. When you really fuck up in the restaurant business, that's just what you do to make sure there's no hard feelings.

about the dog that didn't bark.

A storyline likes this makes news. Even if it's just a report about the incident and the actions taken, something pops up. This type of story hits every nerve in this state for different reasons.
