Basically saying we're weighing our options; we're talking to our allies and Congress and kind of gave Assad more time to kill his people.
I guess I expected more today. Am I wrong?

(13,685 posts)Well, what do you think he should say? Times up, bombs away?
What the fuck is this shit with people wanting to bomb Syria?

(25,224 posts)The thing that is bothering me is that Assad is sitting there saying - they're not doing anything to me - so I might as well keep doing what I've been doing. I am really furious about the use of chemical weapons. What do we do - just keep letting him kill people using these methods and watch?

When you have proof, then.....

(62,325 posts)reports, BEFORE the MSM got involved, it was from Syrian citizens online. Almost all of them stated that the 'outside rebel forces' had 'slaughtered hundreds of people'.
No one believe at first that the massacre had actually happened. So whoever was reporting it online, at least turned out to be correct about that.
As soon as the MSM, the US MSM, not foreign media, it was suddenly a known fact that Assad was responsible. How the hell could they know that if we are not ALREADY on the ground in Syria??
We do not need any more PNAC wars, period. We have been fueling that terrible war and that alone is a crime.
Let's not escalate the crime to mammoth proportions like Iraq by using this an excuse to tick one more PNAC country off the list at the cost of untold numbers of lives.

(85,977 posts). . . and make the country a danger from their own military activity.
I think this means that we're going to fall in behind the UN; for practical reasons, they'll need these allies who have already committed themselves to balance out objections from Russia and China and others.
It's still a lean toward objectionable military violence, but it's a nuanced one.

(62,325 posts)list of 'interests' since 1997 and they've already ticked several of the countries on that list off. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, a few are taking longer than they anticipated.
They LIED to hurry up the first one, Iraq.
As far as I am concerned they are lying about this as they lied about Libya and Afghanistan.
So yes, someone profits greatly from these wars, but it isn't the people here or there. It is Halliburton, KB&R et al. I'm sure the no-bid contracts are already prepared.
Winding down the other extraordary long 'wars' means, they need another to keep the money flowing.
Anyone who even considers forging ahead with the disastrous Project For a New American Century, is simply evil and insane imho. What should be happening is prosecutions and trials of the criminals who got us to this point based on their lies and deception. We sure should not be considering yet more crimes to add to the list.
