that 8 year old Shot his Grandmother with her own Gun

there was a story about an 8 year old who shot his grandmother. he had been playing video games . the gun he used to shoot her belonged to her. the gun people are trying to blame video games for it.

but if he was only playing video games and there was no gun around would she have died ? would he have been able to kill her with the video game controls ?

I'm not sure why no one thought it was odd for an eight-year-old to use an M-rated game. They already do have a ratings system, and if people ignore it, it doesn't help much.
