Oh Dear Lord, what do we do?..
I cannot stomach another war. It sears my very soul. When the powers that be gas their people in Syria.. what do we do?
Mass graves, children gassed in their beds.. But this is the same thing we heard with Iraq.
We all knew Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11. And we knew that when the troops went in. We knew that.
I know the President took tremendous heat, when he waited to do attacks on Libya. He did not put troops in the country. The rebels took out Gaddafi. How is Libya doing now? I don't know. I have heard nothing. But thank GOD we do not have troops in Libya.
Please Mr. President. Do not put troops in Syria. Take out there military storehouses. Give them enough warning so no one has to die.
But no troops on the ground..
That is my prayer

(22,876 posts)further down the thread made a good point, that no troops would be going in in three days..I just have this Iraq image seared in my brain.
But you made a great point.. what if they do blow up the storehouses.. where does all that gas go? Is it destroyed by bombs??
It is very frightening for me..the more I read, the less I understand. If that makes any sense.

(3,978 posts)The U.S. has a contingency plan to deploy U.S. special forces to secure nuclear storage sites in the event Pakistan descended into anarchy for example. I suspect this may happen with Syria as well.

(22,876 posts)From everything I read..they are going to send in missiles this week.. My biggest fear is finding us with boots on the ground in another middle east war.
We have been at war for 10 years.. 10 years.. will it ever end.. why is it always us? if you can answer those questions .. please have at it.. I am numb.

(11,619 posts)In three days there is no time to put troops into Syria.
It would require from three to six months to move the troops into the region and invade. That could not happen before January. Also, the Russians might just bitch and moan about missile strikes on Syrian military equipment that the Syrians will replace by buying it form the Russians. But I don't think they would accept even the small numbers of troops involved in the Libyan conflict. Obama does not want a war with the Russians.

(22,876 posts)Thank you.. I was trying to find out how Libya was doing.. that seems to be the model he (the President) is using again.. but for what ever reason, there is not a whole lot of news about Libya..
