One of the teens charged with beating to death a World War II veteran allegedly claimed he was buying crack cocaine from the 88-year-old and the transaction turned violent — but cops said there is no evidence to support that.

The allegation was denounced as bizarre by victim Delbert “Shorty” Belton’s family and even dismissed by the defense lawyer for the other teen accused in the Spokane, Wash., case, which has drawn national attention.

4. This is story is local for me

I'm very saddened. The murdered WW2 veteran was only 5' tall and known as Shorty. His late wife was called "Giggles'.

In the world, the two boys who have been arrested for Shorty's murder, grew up in, it must not seem far fetch for a 88 year old to be selling crack.

I've been reading the comments on Kenan Kinard's FB page and besides being shocked I am fascinated at how many people saw him as a good kid, despite his record. Have standards dropped that low? BTW; Several people were arrested for helping him hide from the police.

I posted the link below yesterday for for the local paper. According to Kenan's dad, Kenan was "gifted multi-sport athlete" and "Kenan is no violent person at all." Kenan's police record begs to differ....although he did look pretty athletic when he made off with that woman's phone.

6. Where the hell are the PARENTS?

What I got out of this article is that the dad wasn't/isn't involved in his son's life at all, but here he is telling us that his son's a good kid.

There's being a good kid who made a mistake, and then there's being a criminal lowlife. Good kids don't SNATCH CELL PHONES OUT OF PEOPLE'S HANDS AND THEN RUN OFF. That's a shitty and criminal act.
