my love/hate affair with bill clinton continues.

his economics put in practice i cannot stand and belies the gorgeous, heart rending rhetoric of his speeches.

the man has a way of connecting to his listeners that is unparalleled -- he speaks to the crowd like he his speaking to each one individually.

i wouldn't ever want to see him as prez again -- but the man can speechify.

exactly where you want to be.

"If we can't get there the whole way, I'm going to stay put".

Ted Kennedy loved sailing. Which is like politics. When faced with a strong gale the only way to move forward is to tack to the sides.

He can quietly walk into a room with 1,000 people talking and drinking and capture the whole room without saying a word, he has that kind of charisma.

Unfortunately, he has the heart of a teenaged football star.

I'm sure my feelings for Cinton are more positive than yours, but I thought it was probably a pretty honest portrayal of him. He's both caring and cruel at the same time. He's a great politician, but I wouldn't want to be involved in his personal life.

And in some ways both Clinton and Obama conned the people.

Maybe we need to elect a really shitty speaker.

has moved wholly into the realm of show business. Not one of our greatest Presidents could be elected today.

Can you imagine the Lincoln-Douglass debates happening today?

was perhaps the best political speech I've ever witnessed.

I cut him some slack for the good things he accomplished while recognizing his several epic policy failures (Telecommications act, trade regs, deregulation, etc.)
