(62,270 posts)If the Suez canal was shut to US military activity the US would immediately take away aid from Egypt. It was rumored to be shut after the Morsi showdown, and that didn't happen either.

I just looked at ship movements and I can't find if there are any ships that need to go through there. I thought I saw some US ships in the Red Sea but I don't see them there.
