Rival campers who opened fire turn out to be sheriff's deputies

By Robert Faturechi
August 26, 2013, 10:42 p.m.
An apparent booze-fueled dispute over loud music between two groups at a Chino campground over the weekend escalated to the point where men from both sides drew guns and opened fire.

No one was hurt, but the two alleged gunmen have plenty to explain.

It turns out that the rival gun-toting campers were both Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies.

Authorities suspect the off-duty cops learned they were colleagues only after their campground showdown.

Chino police officers were called to Prado Regional Park early Sunday morning. They arrested the deputies — Dejay Barber, 44, and Matthew Rincon, 24 — on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm.

because they were a cop. The look on their faces when they found out the other guy had a badge too was probably priceless. Their "I am a cop and this other guy is a lying douchebag" defense went right out the window when both men flipped out their badges to the Chino cops. LOL!

They protect and serve and that's all we need. All good citizens know this.

In London the cops manage just fine without a dick extender to reassure them of the proper manliness to keep the peace.

Perhaps they are simply superior men/women to our own, or perhaps they are all doomed to die en masse shortly for lack of said extensions.

Hard to say.

Which means, if you're a soldier getting your head sawed-off in the middle of the street in broad daylight it takes that much longer for their to be a credible response.

the "accidental" shootings of civilians and pets is quite rare (one every few years or so?) and so you are absolutely correct.

One never hears of cops shooting innocents or even shooting at other cops in camp grounds, but every day on the news one hears of cops getting their heads sawed off in the middle of the street - several times a day at least in fact.

I may be crazy, but I think weapons should be issued appropriate to the situation, like to face criminals with guns, not as an all purpose tool to use against rude people that look at our officers "funny" or other similar capital offenses that are common in the US.

It is usually just minorities gunned down for reaching for cell phones here so I can see why you consider it not much of a problem, for some, like those regularly profiled, searched and yes even shot while unarmed you can forgive I imagine a slightly differing opinion than your own as you seem most reasonable and even knowledgeable as you have enlightened me to the constant danger of decapitation.

Both cops should lose their jobs and be charged for reckless endangerment plus assault with a deadly weapon.

to hear or not.

Dumb fucking people shouldn't be assumed capable of responsible use of weapons, even if the dumbfuck wears a badge as part of his day job.
