Bill O’Reilly Issues On-Air Apology (regarding his 'no republicans' invited statements)

What Prompted Bill O’Reilly to Issue On-Air Apology?

Bill O’Reilly ended his Thursday night show apologizing for incorrectly claiming the night before in two separate segments that no conservatives or Republicans were invited. There were multiple reports to the contrary yesterday and today, and O’Reilly admitted he got it wrong.

O’Reilly thought it was a mistake that the invited Republicans didn’t attend, but admitted his on-air misstatement was “entirely on me,” saying he merely “assumed” Republicans were excluded. He told his audience in his Tip of the Day, “Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement, and when you make a mistake, admit it.”

And it made me lol that he suggested "Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement" as if his audience is hearing this idea for the first time. Oh wait, maybe Fox viewers don't know "journalists" are always supposed to do that!

He merely "assumed"???

Obama should have already hit Syria and he should not do anything until he gets the permission of Congress. Congress does not report to work often enough to do its job. I guess there was a lot of proof O'Reilly was wrong, be should have devoted his show today pointing out the Cinseratives who did not attend.

Well, good. I'm sure the recons hoped the pundits, especially on faux would propagate the lie that they weren't invited. So, they could whine to high hell.

Malmedy.

Did he ever apologize for insisting that it was American GIs who commited murder at Malmedy? He got pretty heated about it when General Wesley Clarke challenged him on it.

He only admitted to the mistake (lie) after the internet blew up slamming him for the lie. So I give him no credit for it, because he claims he only deals in facts, then he said no Republicans were invited to speak, as he has no facts, just lies.

And btw, after the apology, he said it was really bad because the Factor viewers expect to hear the truth from him.

Really? Since when?

I document at least 2 or 3 lies a night from O'Reilly at oreilly-sucks.com, and that's a good night, some nights he lies in every segment with all Republican guests, who of course all agree with him.

What happened is O'Reilly just made it up to make the people who held the event look bad, then he got busted for the lie, so he admitted he was wrong, but only after the entire internet slammed him for it.
