Zimmerman sentenced to a year's probation and community service

No such luck. This is Shellie Zimmerman, his wife.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/29/shellie-zimmerman-george-zimmerman_n_3836178.html

Shellie Zimmerman made the comments to ABC in an interview aired Thursday on "Good Morning America." She pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor perjury charge for lying during a bail hearing following her husband's arrest for the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

Her husband, who was acquitted on second-degree murder charges in July, wasn't in the Sanford courtroom Wednesday as she was sentenced to a year's probation and 100 hours of community service – even though she supported him and even lied about their finances....

In the interview, she also revealed that she wasn't at their home the night of the teen's controversial shooting because she'd had a fight with her husband.

"I was staying at my father's house," she said. "We had gotten into an argument the night before and I left."

O rly? You don't suppose he might've been, y'know, enraged or anything after that? And yet we only find this out now, not in, say, a trial or something when it might have mattered.

So his wife gets an actual sentence, even if it is a slap on the wrist, for doing something other than killing a teenager in cold blood, while he goes around touring gun factories?!

edit: Wait, what? A misdemeanor perjury charge? Then again, CA has a misdemeanor DUI charge.

so as not to ruin a person's life with a felony for an isolated unfortunate incident, or a low blood alcohol, morning after, or any number of other unfortunate scenarios which don't deserve a felony conviction.

Other than that, this is probably a pretty standard sentence for lying under oath...it happens...regularly..most judges have a standard sentence for this..

gz will get his like oj did. Because they're both assholes who can't help themselves. And, they both got lucky with the juries the first time they were charged. And, then karmic fate steps in.

We'll see.
