Of course the Democrats will also vote against the war, but it will be the GOP who seal the deal.

They are looking for ANY excuse they can to impeach him, and they were just chomping at the bit for him to act unilaterally here. Instead, he just dumped it onto their laps. Priceless!!

He just said Damascus must be answered as a matter of national security and that he believes he has the authority to act without Congress.

What will you say if he strikes after Congress says no?

Why don't we just take this one step at a time instead of trying to predict the future?

Your question, based on a "possible," is completely pointless.

If it is a matter of national security, as he thinks, and since he has the authority to strike alone, as he thinks, his words raise questions that are neither pointless nor improbable.

But don't let me stop you. No need for you to exercise these thoughts.

You are confusing inferences with assumptions.

I don't need to question your motives; the answer's been supplied.

Go back and reread your statement. It's classic cart before horse, pessimistic prognosticating based more on fear than reality. I'm sure you've spent the last several days loudly proclaiming that Obama's going to war, only to be surprised by this decision.

So instead of trying to read the tealeaves, why don't we wait and see what Congress has to say?

I suspect the Congress will give him authorization.

They need more monies from the MIC corps to campaign (and party).

have any choice. The PM still clearly understands he has to listen to the people's representatives...first, not just as a political cover.

Had Obama done that initially without needing to attempt this macho posturing politico routine...I can do it myself but you're just lucky that I choose to ask you people via your elected representatives...ugh.

Very smart! Because now if they don't authorize and he does nothing, they can't get away with attacking him for it and same goes if they do authorize. They're all on it together!

Forcing this do nothing, constantly bitching Congress to decide is a freaking stroke of genius!
