The operation went bad, since Snowden wasn't aboard. Obama disappeared into the woods and left those countries to take the heat alone.
I posted at the time that that would not bode well for Obama in the future, when he needed a favor. You just don't burn your partners, and fail to give them legal and political cover.
Well, we're seeing the chickens come home to roost. Obama can't get any international support for his Syria strike. Not a surprise. I'm sure the spying stuff didn't help matters. We are seeing Obama turn toxic, he's going to have a difficult time getting support from now on.

(10,942 posts)The President has a vast security establishment under him, every President has had that. If a request was made and you have no proof that one was made, many people could have made that request below the President.

(11,495 posts)So much BS around here is being used as "facts" by posters who simply don't like the president no matter what, so they just make shit up. You can tell who they are, they are the ones that are still bitching even after the president decided to take this issue to congress. You just can't please them, no matter what!

(1,456 posts)Obama or anyone in the US asked ANYONE to deny Morales's plane. In fact, according to his own pilot that opposite was true.
IMHO Morales made it all up - he saw an opportunity for 15 minutes of international fame, and he took it.

Give it up. Reasonable explanations are usually true. Morales' pilot admitted that they took off without a revised flight plan and scrambled to get clearance for a new one.
The rest may have been caused by an anxiety-driven ambassador. Obama is not the Darth Vader you want him to be.
