JERUSALEM Israelis reacted warily Saturday to the Obama administrations decision to delay a strike against Syria, warning the move would likely be seen in the region as a sign of weakness.
Officials and pundits were particularly worried about how the delay would be interpreted in Iran, which is facing U.S. pressure to halt its nuclear development program, which the U.S. and Israel believe is aimed at building nuclear weapons.
Iran will see the U.S. as a paper tiger, said analyst Zvi Yehezkeli of Israels Channel 10.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued no formal reaction Saturday night.
But some predicted Obamas hesitation would cause many in Israel to doubt the U.S. promise to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. The U.S. has urged Israel which is believed to possess the regions only nuclear weapons to refrain from attacking Irans nuclear facilities and leave the job to Americas military, if necessary.

We have no power as citizens anymore. We are ruled by corporations and foreign governments.

(490 posts)and I'm sick of Sick. Of. It. You just added reason 1001 to 1000 reasons I have for staying away from Syria.
This time we're getting a chance. We should scream NO! NO! NO! to our congresscritters as loudly as we can. Who knows? Maybe we can avoid the nest of viper traps that is Syria. I'm not giving up hope yet.

If you want to go at war with Syria, be my guest, just make sure my family has a first class ticket plus $2.5 million in cash (for reimbursment of loss of house, clothes, materials) on the way back to the United States from Efrat.

Why are they so eager for US to attack Siria? What is it to them?

(6,960 posts)but fuck Israel...I wish that blight would sink or swim on its own. I am sick of what it has done to Palestinian children, of its instigating trouble, of my tax dollars supporting its very existence while stateside, things go to hell. The US did not have problems in the ME before 1948!
