where then will you direct your moral outrage? If Assad's reckless disregard for life is worthy of retribution, what does that mean for us if we kill in error or deceit? Balance the equation for me.

Unresponsive Congress.
Both of whom have chosen to ignore any citizen input except for when they are trying to get re-elected.
I AM might curious how both Cameron and Obama can stated so firmly they have enough evidence to justify attacking Syria when the inspectors have not yet returned FROM Syria, when the inspectors state it will take them more than a few days AFTER they return to present their findings.
Strike first, ignore facts later seems to be the new national motto.

(17,064 posts)There is no reason for an immediate knee-jerk response. If its determined that Assad's forces used the sarin, and a "punitive" strike is warranted and effective, then it will be so just as well in a few weeks as it is now. The only rationale for an immediate response is fear that emerging facts won't back up initial claims....in which case we have another Iraq War under false pretenses situation.

Shrub was just waiting for an excuse to invade Iraq. Pres. Obama is not in that situation and I don't think he, or members of his administration, are being anything other than truthful.

(17,064 posts)...just like Bush's did. They aren't interested in finding out the truth, and making a thoughtful response. They merely want to cheer every decision dear leader makes, even if its dreadfully wrong.
