Syria: Defector 'Exposes Assad Chemical Attack' (Not current one, the one March 19th)
A former Syrian forensic medicine expert has provided evidence that the Assad regime used chemical weapons, opposition forces say.
Abdeltawwab Shahrour, head of the forensic medicine committee in Aleppo, is expected to hold a news conference on the alleged March 19 chemical attack in Khan al-Assal, said Istanbul-based opposition coalition spokeswoman Sarah Karkour.
Mr Shahrour, who has defected to Turkey, has documents proving the attack took place and eye-witness accounts from police authorities that contradicted the administration's version of events, a second opposition official said.
The attack in the northern province of Aleppo killed more than two dozen people.
