The meltdown over the Santorum robocall must've given Free Republic a stroke

Last edited Wed Feb 29, 2012, 02:04 AM - Edit history (2)

As of now (6PM Eastern) FreeRepublic.com is down! Bummer, I was hoping to see the hyperventilation over Rick Santorum's robocall asking Michigan Democratic voters to cross vote in today's primary.

(ETA) look! They have a yahoo group like we do! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/freerepublic2/

(ETA 1:03AM ET) FR returned to the internet around 11PM ET or so. Here's a thread re the D (or in freeper language "rats&quot robocall http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2852153/posts

Wait till the site's back up, You'll see. They'll accept it as a necessary evil to beat RINO Romney.

which FR opposes for the most part. However, Thom Hartmann's theory is that a brokered conv would nom a more true conservative like Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush.

to the hardware and infrastructure (certainly not the software), they still can't handle upsides to their server demands. Sucks to be them. When things are hopping, count on FR to be down and out.

They apparently just finished a pledge drive and squeezed about $90,000 out of their followers. I wonder if JimRob decided to just shut it down and boogie with the money?

That, or one of those damned tubes blew again.

Re: FR status report

We do the best we can with what we have. Others have tried and failed with more.
We're under capitalized, under funded, under staffed and under water. Just too
damn stupid and too damn stubborn to know you can't do what we're doing on a
shoestring and live to tell the tale. No doubt someday all of our detractors
will be pleased to see us go down for the last time. But until then, damn the
torpedoes, full speed ahead!!

We are the resistance!! If not us, who?
