He did a good job making his case on a situation that makes no sense.

An appeal to upholding "international norms" by a unilateral act that is illegal under the same international norms.

Explain to me how outstanding, excellent, and very good are all the same.

Nearly half of the voters had no problem in making such a distinction.

If you want to split hairs you could argue outstanding and excellent are similar but I wouldn't. And only in a parallel universe is outstanding and very good the same.

strike I guess we'll have to wait to see how the country as a whole feels about it. I didn't watch it. I don't support a military strike and I see the threat as either one of two things. Either they mean it which means they plan to ignore the public if diplomacy fails or they don't mean it in which case it would be a hollow threat and most hollow threats don't work very well. I guess we just have to hope diplomacy works.

I feel you have too many positive choices. Out of the 6 responses possible 5 of them are positive. Collapsing this into fewer options (poor, fair and good, for example) would still let people show their support without having to decide between very good and outstanding, and would actually emphasize positive reviews of the President's speech. Those are just my quick thoughts, please don't take any of this as a personal attack or anything.

My next poll will have A, B, C, D, E, and F.

But outstanding isn't synonymous with very good.

Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address was outstanding, JFK's Inaugural speech was excellent, and any random Bill Clinton speech was merely very good.

However I can assure you I have no ulterior motive and know what a biased poll is or isn't.

If you think it was my desire to paint the president, in a positive or negative light there is nothing I can do to disabuse you of that notion.

For instance I don't think a Fair is a good grade. I would equate it to a D in school which is barely passing.

Outstanding would be an A and Very Good would be a B. Perhaps outstanding and excellent is redundant but at the risk of being risque I can recall my sexual encounters and can distinguish between the outstanding encounters, the excellent encounters. the fair encounters and so on and so forth. I would trade ten fair ones for one outstanding ones as it is the outstanding ones i can remember decades later.
