I am ashamed of Colorado Springs and Pueblo. NO to background checks and 15+ clips = recall? I need to relocate.

5. Damn. Bloomberg money versus NRA money, all out of state. So she and Morse are both out of office?

I know that Morse will be replaced by a Republican, not sure about Giron's seat.

I'm sad for the families of the victims of Aurora, but legislation written and passed out of passion and grief rarely works out well.

everyone was perfectly willing to sweep our two massacres under the rug.

I doubt my neighbor who's 9 year old was shot in the head by her ex will ever get over her grief.
I cry when I see her taking her daily walk. She is a broken woman and too old now to have another child.
I get so sick of this argument about emotions and grief - no time is a good time to talk about guns in this
fucked up gun crazy country.

They want no laws at all - period

I hope that her ex is in jail for life now, and I'll bet he should have been in jail instead of free to shoot children except for such crappy enforcement and prosecution of violent offenders.

The shooting of his child is almost certainly not his first offense.

Fucker, how sad.

and the law will still stand because Colorado has a Democratic governor, so let the NRA d-bags gloat over their little victory.

14. NRA etc. raised only $540,000. Opponents of the recall spent $3,000,000. Hmmm.

Not to defend the idiots at the NRA, but looking at the numbers maybe there's something else going on in Colorado.

Maybe, just maybe, the voters didn't support the way the legislators legislated.

Outside money shows national interest in Colorado recall elections

Colorado state Sens. Angela Giron and John Morse face recall elections on Tuesday. ((Associated Press and Denver Post file photos))

Colorado's first-ever recall elections of state lawmakers have amassed about $3.5 million from donors both near and far, with those vying to defend the incumbents up for election Tuesday significantly outraising the opposition.

A Denver Post review of finance reports from the 10 active issue committees involved in the recalls of Senate President John Morse of Colorado Springs and Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo found some donors contributing as little as $1 to as much as six figures.

The committees accepted unrestricted amounts of cash from thousands of individuals and dozens of nonprofit 501(c)(4)s, which do not have to disclose donors, according to the Colorado secretary of state.

Proponents of the recall have raised about $540,000, while opponents have collected nearly $3 million. Much of the cash has come from out of state — a sign of the national significance these recalls have.
