My response of "That is just fucked." was to the number left in the wild.

That IS just fucked.

according to WWF,

Wild tiger numbers are at an all-time low. We have lost 97% of wild tigers in just over a century. Tigers may be one of the most revered animals, but they are also vulnerable to extinction. As few as 3,200 exist in the wild today.

Ecology is *of course* more important than gearing up a war against (X).
But so is every other truly liberal value, like universal education and healthcare.

I remember when I was a kid, there would be articles about some animals going extinct. Now we may actually be getting there. The number of Tigers left is really shocking. Didn't realize it was so few.

It is turning into vineyards. The difference is that vineyards allow habitat for almost nothing. No birds, no skinks, snakes, possums, cougar, bobcat, fox, deer, rabbits, hares, skunks, and the lake is thick with scum from the polluting pesticides the vineyards require.

The newspaper ran a photo of a dust devil sweeping through someone's back pasture yesterday. The article mentioned how unusual this phenomena is in Lake County. But I think it will become the norm.

And the vineyards are considered "environmental" so the public doesn't have the will to stop it.

When the price goes high enough, we'll simply switch to a substitute. Same goes for ocean fish, and passenger pigeons, and bats, and honeybees..

Wait, what?
