The President asked a very important question.

What kind of world will we live in if the United States of America sees a dictator brazenly violate international law with poison gas, and we choose to look the other way?

Problem is, for his argument, is that the real answer is "not terribly different than the current one, and perhaps one that's better for the United States." We looked the other way with regards to Saddam's abuses against the Kurds and Marsh Arabs. It was only when we made it our business that it did great damage to our country and made life worse for everyone in Iraq.

Every country should be so lucky to have its internal disputes and crimes neglected by the US.

to do something. There's no one to enforce international law in this case, so appealing to it is mere window dressing.

it used chemical weapons. I cringed when the President
asked that question last night...the cringe was closely followed
by a vocal, "OMG" and the flight of my cat leaving the room.

Received from the UK and the assistance we received from France. We also need to look to our Congress members when they were given the task of taking a stand and how they squirmed. Right now I am quiet happy with the performance of our president and his cabinet, these are the strong ones, the weasels be damned.
