in anything they did was, by definition, not a patriot. If you didn't flail the flag and rah-rah-rah every anniversary of 9/11, you were a terrorist...

There is absolutely nothing to celebrate about this horrific day.
I guess the RWers decided to be like the Muslims they claim to have seen celebrating this day. It's the only thing I can think of.

It's very disgusting. I even saw a "remember 911" McDonalds ad online.

Is 911 something we are supposed to be happy about? Like July 4th?

I refer to ALL officials by their title, regardless of how you, I, or anyone else may feel about them. I also call President Obama...President.

The lack of respect shown by some definately affects their message impact.

It would be like renaming Pearl Harbor Day "Victory in the Pacific Day".

Frankly, what happened on 9/11 was such a defeat for the United States that I think a lot of Americans (especially politicians) still have not figured out emotionally how to forthrightly deal with it ... so they go along with this flag-waving 'Patriot Day' behavior.

While I think we should have a subdued and respectful memorialization for those who died and for those public servants who sacrificed on that day, it would be better to try and put this ignorable event behind us.
