If GWB had put before Congress, the case for a military strike against Iraq

and had given the nation as a whole the time to discuss and make their wishes known......what do you think would have been the final outcome for the USA pursuing military action?

He probably still would have won the votes he needed for his illegal war. The whole country was on edge, panicked, wanting to fight back. Someone was going to get bombed...and while GWB might have been getting bombed and eating pretzels, VP Dick "Dick" Cheney had the war machine cranked up and ready to go.

a joint resolution was passed in the U.S. Congress to authorize war with Iraq. There was much debate on the resolution prior to the vote.

the OP is an open ended question and I was simply curious of how people would have read the 9-11 scenario given today's filters.

Skepticism over claims of WMDs and US military adventures of any kind remain high, since the 2nd Iraq War, precisely because GWB took advantage of 9/11 and flimsy evidence that Iraq had WMDs to start a war.
