It's usually from someone wondering why people frown upon him using his favorite racial/gender/religious slurs from junior high school... I mean, he used to be able to see those words all the time and not get in trouble, right??

(This train of thought always descends into a "In MY day...." -type of rant which always ends with a lamentation of modern times and the "Pussification of America...&quot

I abhor, to the nth degree, all slurs based upon race, sex, color, orientation, nationality, and non-Christian religion (sorry about that last one, but hey).

But I find the people who become OUTRAGED at utterances where clearly no harm or offense was intended ( instead a case of mere ignorance or a lapse in judgement) to be just as offensive.

Why?

Because our side should be the better side.

your assessment about whether a given statement is inoffensive, that's what you hate?

Got it.

Personally, I always try to keep in mind the fact that things are called "politically correct" because their alternatives are incorrect.

. . . and in my experience, those who complain about "PC" are in most cases those looking for an excuse for their own boorishness.
