1. It's not just here

but everywhere on the internet.

Partly, I think because people feel such a lack of control in their lives today. Prices are going up on everything, but incomes remain stagnant.

Huge corporations rule our lives in every area, as well as legislatures, with no restraint or consequences.

And then there are the egos that can say whatever to whomever, hiding behind anonymity, like the cowards that they are. That they can control to a degree and gives them, for a moment some power and control.

I doubt that things will improve in the future. Human nature isn't pretty.

But yes, yoga and tai chi are a huge help. They allow us to step back and take us out of our selfish selves and see a broader picture.
