Chief U.S. District Judge sends racially charged email about president

HELENA — Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull on Wednesday admitted to sending a racially charged email about President Barack Obama from his courthouse chambers.

Cebull, of Billings, was nominated by former President George W. Bush and received his commission in 2001 and has served as chief judge for the District of Montana since 2008.

The subject line of the email, which Cebull sent from his official courthouse email address on Feb. 20 at 3:42 p.m., reads: "A MOM'S MEMORY."

The forwarded text reads as follow:

"Normally I don't send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards, it was a bit touching. I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read this. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine.

"A little boy said to his mother; 'Mommy, how come I'm black and you're white?'" the email joke reads. "His mother replied, 'Don't even go there Barack! From what I can remember about that party, you're lucky you don't bark!'"

12. What's especially infuriating besides

what everyone else here has covered is that this "judge" handles a lot of Indian law cases. He is showing his true racist colors here and I would not only not allow him on the bench anymore, I would be asking for a review of all Indian law cases and cases involving minorities, as in right fucking now. I live in Indian Country and hubby's an attorney and this is beyond disgraceful to the profession, especially considering that there are many very good, competent, caring, non-racist attorneys out of work and who are having trouble finding work and this motherfucker is a slap in the face to them, any one of which would do a better job.

The state and federal courts are often quite racist enough when it comes to Indian law and Indians often don't get a fair shake in the federal courts (where most of their cases end up because reservations are sovereign nations and states don't have jurisdiction over many Indians, the federal government does) even with non-racist judges. But this is unbe-fucking-lievable, even given the daily racism I see and hear against Indians by fellow whites here in Indian country. And this POS SOB isn't even really sorry, he's only sorry he got caught. Witness his words that "it wasn't intended for a public audience." Uh, dumbass motherfucker, you send something from your fucking GOVERNMENT computer that WE PAY FOR, WTF do you think is gonna happen?
