Bristol Palin is returning to reality TV!
Two years after competing on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," single mom Palin, 20, is set to appear in her own 10-episode Lifetime reality series, "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp."
"From the first moment she was thrust into the public eye, Bristol and her son have been the subjects of a huge amount of curiosity and misunderstanding. This show will reveal the real Bristol Palin and her journey as a daughter, a mother and a young woman making her way in the world, the network's Executive Vice President, Programming Rob Sharenow told Us Weekly in a statement Wednesday.
Palin's docuseries -- costarring her 3-year-old son with ex Levi Johnston -- is expected to premiere later this year.

Why do I read this announcement as just another attempt by mommy dearest to control her roll in the media?

(22,271 posts)I'm grateful I had to cancel my Comcast TV feed. Been watching Documentaries and various British series on Netflix for the last month or so -- much better for my I.Q. level and I don't have to shell out the extra $50.00 a month.

(22,271 posts)and really liked it. I've been re-watching some of ,my old favorites: "Good Neighbors," "Plaid Adder," "Elizabeth R," and "Upstairs/Downstairs."
I watched "Behaving Badley" with Judy Dench (OK), Scarlet and Black (OK), and the Politician's Wife (pretty good). The BEST thing I've watched recently but Netflix only has the first 2 of 4 seasons is "Monarchy." It's a history of the English Monarchy from the beginning (Uther). I've watched it twice now and am tempted to watch it again. Unfortunately Season Two only brings it up to Charles II.
Do you have any recommendations?

(62,530 posts)We have just gotten into Doc Martin. I love the dry humor of it.
I also have been watching on Netflix "Island at war". It's about a fictional British Island (based on the Isle of Jersey) that is occupied by German forces during WWII.
