Gimme some truth about Texas history.....

I've heard this....

The reason Texas fought Mexico for independence in the 1830's was so that they could exploit the cotton trade - which wasn't possible to do without slavery. Mexico had an anti-slavery government and fought those in Texas fightingt for "independence"
