I wince a little when I hear Kerry bluster and threaten. He uses words like "thug" and "murderer." It seems unstatemanlike to me.
We don't have to resort to name-calling. If we want to negotiate eventually, it's hard to take those words back.

(116,464 posts)Kerry is working the diplomatic track with Russia and the international community. He doesn't have to play nice with Assad.

Hah!
You mean humility? That crap where you can do things that would make a more pompous person embarrassed and yet with humility you would not feel any embarrassment by being a small part of a greater collective effort? Yeah... communism. It has the word collective in it.

(34,115 posts)and I can't imagine why it would. It is a comment on how he does his job FOR our country. It IS our job to speak up if we don't like it. I personally do not like it either. To call people from another country names does not seem like a good idea to me unless you want to fan flames and start fighting with them. Look how we react as a country to that.
I do not understand the idea of never being able to listen to criticism of a politician you happen to support.

While I'm at it, let me say that I'm tired of the tough talk against Iran, too.
