General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI remember what Breitbart said about Ted Kennedy after he died...
so, I won't be crying any tears for Breitbart. While I don't rejoice in his death (sad to die so young and with a family), but in many ways he was one of the reasons why the political discourse in this country is so bad and the GOP has become increasingly hateful:
Early this morning, news broke that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away after serving in the U.S. Senate for nearly 50 years. Soon after, conservative commentator Andrew Breitbart began a sustained assault on Kennedys memory, tweeting Rest in Chappaquiddick.
Over the course of the next three hours, Breitbart unapologetically attacked Kennedy, calling him a villain, a big ass motherf@#$er, a duplicitous bastard and a prick. Ill shut my mouth for Carter. Thats just politics. Kennedy was a special pile of human excrement, wrote Breitbart in one tweet.

I'm just reporting on the allegations, I'll leave it you you to determine whether or not they're true

(9,523 posts)was positivity. He was an asshole. Maybe not evil incarnate, but an asshole. I'll read any objective articles I can about him now that are sure to come out and maybe I'll leard some redeeming things about him. But right now I don't feel guilty about liking the news for about a second after I read it.

(17,656 posts). . an example of just how out of control he was, going to the group that was gathered there shouting "Behave" at a bunch of peacful people gathered at the park.
It was a stupid act of stupidity by a stupid man.
He was lucky he wasn't arrested.
What he did to Shirley Sherrod was criminal.
He had no morals whatsoever.
He justified everything he did as "necessary for the cause".

(793 posts)I used to just do a little mantra and expect peoples heads to explode on the TV. Then I recalled the guy from kids in the hall who squeesed heads with his fingers. It works!
Or perhaps it was Jack and Speed-balls that a 40 plus freak figures he can do without repercussion.
Or maybe it was that devious Keith Oberman putting him on his hated people list for many days in a row. You know God probably watches that.

(39,909 posts)I didn't care what he said when he was a live.
Why should I care what he says now that he is gone.
and DU certainly does NOT need more that one thread to say,
"So what?"
Is DU going to care this much and waste this much bandwidth when Joe the Plumber's clock stops ticking?
The ONLY thing I want to know about Andrew Brietbart's death
is whether on not he was killed by one of President Obama's Drones.
If so, then I will have to re-evaluate my position on the President's use of Armed Assassination Drones,
and a president's Authority to target Americans without a warrant.
I may change my mind and start supporting the power of a Unitary Executive,
but only if he uses these extra-constitutional powers for sanitation and disease control.
I will still oppose their use as a military weapon.
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

(3,128 posts)Ted went up and Andy B. went down. There is so little good that can be said for Breitbart. While Kennedy was not always honorable in all that he did, the good he did far outweighs the bad. That can NOT be said for Breitbart.
I do feel sorry for Breitbart's children--that they were his children. What a negative atmosphere in which to live!

(1,730 posts)the loss of this idiot. He did more to cement the perception, in the minds of normal rational people, that the repug party is a hateful, bigoted party than Ann Coulter, Pat Robertson, Frothy Rick, or Rushbo combined have. And he managed to do it in just a relative few moments on the national stage. Guess it goes to show why the repugs are a party marching off into irrelevance.
