Wouldn't you like to have 300 armed good ole boys patrolling your state for "undesirables?"

PHOENIX (WTW) — The Arizona Senate has advanced a bill creating a volunteer militia force for the state.

Supporters say the so-called "special missions unit" of 300 armed volunteers would be a useful tool to help the state secure its shared border with Mexico.

Critics question the need for the force and whether it's wise to arm civilians and put them on the border.

Arizona law allows the governor to form a militia and the Legislature last year passed another law specifically reiterating that authority, but Gov. Jan Brewer has not invoked it.

Yes, it was a neo-nazi militia group.

I bet in a real combat situation, these militia members would piss in their pants and cry for their mommies.

Not rag tag militia with AR-15's and beat-up trucks. Unless if the state is willing to train them (especially not to fire on the Mexican Army), I don't agree with this.

If they are given extensive training, and given real weapons (not just beaten up AR-15s and M14s bought at the local gun shop) and are made into a real fighting force, I don't have a problem with this.
